A to Z Gratitude List With 150+ Things to Be Thankful For

Do you express gratitude often? If not, I’ve got a fun little gratitude exercise for you. By writing an A to Z gratitude list, you can start appreciating the good things in your life more! 

If you’re not someone who thinks about gratitude a lot, I want to share a little story of how I learned why appreciating what you have really makes a difference. 

Ok. So I was alone at home, just getting ready to watch a good movie. I had made pizza and I didn’t have anything to worry about or anything I had to get done that day. It’s also worth mentioning that I was very comfortable, much more so than in the previous places I had lived. 

And then I just thought to myself how odd it is that it was a seemingly perfect moment in life, but I didn’t really feel anything. So I decided to list everything that was good in that moment out loud. The peace, the pizza, the Christmas tree, no worries, and no bad roommates anymore… And then I felt it. I felt happy and content. It literally only took a few seconds to feel much better. 

And that’s exactly why positive thoughts are something you should foster and why practicing gratitude is honestly a powerful tool in making your life better. You can make it a part of your daily life and it won’t even take much time. 

The benefits of gratitude are multitude, but the best part is that you can literally do it anywhere and at any time. And this time, we are using an A to Z gratitude list to do it. It’s a great way to start practicing gratitude if you haven’t done it yet!

What is an A to Z gratitude list?

Have you ever heard of gratitude journaling? It’s journaling that helps you practice more gratitude, which in turn makes you happier and helps you appreciate your life more. 

An A to Z gratitude list (or an abc gratitude list) is a fun way to practice gratitude. The idea is that you list things you are grateful for starting with every letter of the alphabet. It’s like a fun little gratitude game. 

There are many different ways to do this. If you want, you can simply write one single thing for each letter. Or you can pick a new letter every day and list good things that start with that letter. Since there are 28 letters in the alphabet, this could be your monthly challenge! 

Writing an A to Z gratitude list is a perfect way to practice gratitude and start appreciating the little things in life more. It helps you push your negative emotions aside and have a more positive outlook.

Tips for writing a gratitude list

The whole point of this exercise is to make you feel better. So however way you want to make your list is just fine. 

It’s quite common to list 3-5 things you are grateful for every day, so if this sounds good to you, you can do that. 

I recommend you take your time to think about things that you truly want to feel more gratitude towards and spend some time to think about what those things mean to you and how they affect your life. 

You can write only one thing per letter or try to write a very long list of good things that covers everything you are grateful for. Feel free to come up with the words yourself, but you can of course also use the following gratitude list ideas as inspiration!

How to start practicing more gratitude

Having a grateful attitude honestly makes a difference. We often only notice the big moments in life, the ones that are unforgettable or long awaited. But practicing an attitude of gratitude in your everyday life can be very helpful in being happier and it can help you on your personal growth journey as well. 

There are no specific things you have to do, it’s all about finding what works for you. Some like gratitude journaling, some like taking quiet moments to just appreciate everything around them, and some may like to use music to find beauty in their day-to-day lives. 

I recommend you make a habit of having a little daily gratitude practice. In the beginning, you can try different methods and see what works best for you. Once it becomes a habit, you will be a more positive and content person which will help you become your best self and change your life in other ways too. 

You can make your own gratitude list that will always be there to remind you of all the beautiful and important things in your life. It can come in handy when you’re feeling down or when life gets stressful. This is a good way to foster positive emotions and learn what makes your life special.

Writing an A to Z list for gratitude honestly helps a lot. It’s good to aim to practice gratitude in your normal daily life because it affects your happiness and quality of life a lot. And it can be hard to notice how much those small things that make life a little better really mean if you never pay much attention to them. 

You can express gratitude in a number of ways, by simply reciting a couple of things you are grateful for out loud, by writing a daily gratitude list, or whatever else feels right to you. But believe me, practicing gratitude is a game changer. I recommend you make it a daily practice.
