I am a big fan of all kinds of productivity products, so naturally, I have tried quite a few different kinds of planners. For the past couple of months, I have been using the Clever Fox Daily Planner. I wanted to try it because I fell in love with the cute planners and the vibrant colors.

If you’re thinking about getting the Clever Fox Daily Planner but aren’t sure if it’s the right fit for you, read this review to know what I think about this planner.

Why you should use a daily planner

Some people might prefer weekly planners, but I think daily planners are the best choice if you have a lot to do and a lot going on. A daily planner gives you plenty of room to plan your schedule for the day and write a detailed to-do list as well.

Having a planner helps you stay organized and keep track of all the things you have to do. It also helps you improve your productivity because it encourages you to form productive habits and get more done every day.

Why choose a Clever Fox Planner

Clever Fox is a company that makes some of the best planners out there. Their mission is to help you with your productivity and personal development – two cornerstones of leveling up your life.

They really care about making a positive difference and giving you a tool to get more done. Their planners are high-quality and handmade, and they quality test every planner they send out. You can be sure that you are getting a good-quality product when you order from them!

What do I think about the Clever Fox Daily Planner

It’s been two months now, so I have a good idea of what it’s like to use this planner. All in all, it’s a solid choice for a daily planner, especially if you need a schedule with a simple to-do list on the side.

1. Looks

First of all, I have to say I absolutely love how the planner looks. It’s simple and cute and peach is a wonderful color for a planner. It’s size A5 (8.25 x 5.75 in/14.5 x 21cm), which I consider to be the perfect size. The three bookmarks are in fun colors and the pages themselves look simple and tidy.

The planner is a bit heavy (670 grams), so if you want a planner that you can easily take wherever you go, this might be a bit too heavy for your liking. But if you are like me and you just need a planner you can keep on your desk, this is not a problem.

2. Daily pages

The main pages of the planner have a 6 am to 9 pm schedule, a to-do list, sections for the day’s main goal and priorities, and a scale to rate your productivity.

The schedule takes a bit too much space on the page in my opinion and I don’t think most people need a detailed schedule to begin with. I wish the to-do list was about twice as big and I think the main goal and the priorities could be combined. I really liked the rate your productivity section though, because it encourages you to work harder and be more productive every day.

3. Weekly pages

Each week starts with a weekly page that has space for your main goal and priorities of the week, a work to-do list, a personal to-do list, and a habit/skill tracker. There is also a life balance to-do list that includes sections for health and fitness, fun and recreation, family and friends, personal development, romance and relationships, and spirituality.

You can choose a reward that you will get if you achieve the week’s main goal, which I think is a great idea and it did motivate me a lot. The habit tracker is very useful and it’s great that you can choose different habits to track each week.

Having a separate to-do list on the weekly pages felt a bit redundant to me because that just meant that I was repeating the same tasks on the daily pages. This might still be useful to you if you have tasks that you don’t need to complete on a specific day. I think the “romance and relationships” and “spiritual” boxes were completely unnecessary and I always left them blank.

After each week there is a weekly notes and review spread, which I found very useful. An empty page for notes was also very useful whenever I needed to write something down. I would often write down my thoughts and ideas for how I could be more productive in the future.

The review page is definitely a great way to reflect on your week and your productivity and come up with ways to do things better.

4. Monthly pages

The monthly spread lets you plan out your month in a clear grid. It also has space for your monthly goals, which I found to be useful since they helped me get a bit more done each month.

There is also a small planning section where you can list habits to adopt, skills to learn, things to avoid, places to go, and people to see. While there isn’t much writing space for these plans, you can choose one or two things to focus on each month.

Similarly to the weekly pages, there is some space to review your month. You can write down the month’s wins and what you will improve next month. While this sounds very simple, reviewing your month and setting new goals each month can help you improve your productivity a lot.

5. Extra pages

The Clever Fox Daily Planner doesn’t just help you to be productive on a daily basis, it also helps you to stay in the right mindset and focus on your goals. The first pages of the planner are reserved for gratitude, daily rituals, and your goals.

You can write down what you are grateful for, what you are passionate about, and what skills you want to learn. Additionally, you can write down your favorite affirmations, which I think is a great idea. One spread is reserved for your vision board, which you can simply draw or you could print some pictures to make your vision board look nice and colorful.

The planner has different sections for all of your different goals, whether they are fitness, finance, personal development, or career goals, or something else. I think the goal pages are one of the best things about this planner because they help you focus on your most important goals and it is definitely motivating to see your goals immediately as you open your planner.

Pros

  • The planner looks great
  • There are a total of 23 color options to choose from
  • High-quality paper
  • It’s undated and for six months
  • A habit tracker for every week
  • It helps you improve your productivity
  • There is plenty of room for notes
  • The three bookmarks are convenient
  • The weekly spread helps you reflect on your week and on your productivity
  • The monthly pages are clear and useful
  • Pen holder
  • Convenient inner pocket in the back

Cons

  • Not enough space for your daily to-dos if you have a lot of them
  • Quite heavy
  • Some sections in the daily and weekly pages are a bit redundant
  • Stains are very visible on the peach cover

Conclusion

Overall I was quite satisfied with this planner, although I must say that not having much space for my daily to-do list was frustrating. If you mainly need to write down where you should be instead of what exactly you need to get done (or you have eight or fewer tasks to complete each day), this is not a problem for you. This planner would also work for time blocking.

I really like the weekly review page and all the extra pages that help you plan your goals and stay motivated. And I must say it’s not often that I see a planner that looks this good.

I will definitely buy this planner again if I’m at a point in my life where I have a clear schedule instead of mainly needing to write down tasks to complete.

  1. I’ve never heard of Clever Fox Planners! I really love your review and I’m going to have to check this out. I love that you can start any time of the year because a lot of times I don’t get a planner till a few months into the year. And, I really love the weekly summary pages where you can break down personnel and work-related things to do. I usually end up with multiple lists all over my desk, so this would help solve that problem!

    Thanks so much for sharing!
