New Month, New Goals: Tips and Ideas for Monthly Goals
New month comes with new goals, right? Monthly goals are a great way to improve yourself and your life without too much commitment. That’s why you should set them every month.
In this post, I will give you some tips on how to set the right monthly goals for yourself and how to make sure you’ll actually stick to them. You’ll also get plenty of different ideas on what kinds of goals to set!
What kind of monthly goals you should set?
Monthly goals are literally just goals you set for the month. They don’t have to be very big or complex. Usually it’s best to set simple and easy goals so that you are less likely to give up. If you set good goals for this month, next month you can take those same goals to the next level!
For example, if your goal this month is to write 500 words per day for your book, next month you could increase that number to 1000. Over time, you’ll make a lot of progress and that progress will be steady.
Try choosing one simple goal for different areas in your life, like health, exercise, work, hobbies, social life, and self-development. This way you won’t get too overwhelmed in one area or neglect the others.
To choose which exact goals you should set, it’s always a good idea to think about what your ultimate goals in life are or what are your biggest goals for this year. Monthly goals that support your bigger goals can speed up your progress.
If you don’t have any specific big goals in mind, you can always just choose something fun or try something you’ve been thinking about trying, like learning to play the ukulele.
How to make sure you don’t give up?
To biggest challenge with any goals you set is that often you feel like giving up or at least not doing what you’re supposed to do right now. That happens to pretty much everyone.
To make sure you don’t give up, you have to make sure that you set goals that are important to you and your growth. You also need to know what exactly you are supposed to do and how often.
Additionally, you have to have a plan for when problems occur. What will you do if you get sick and can’t go to the gym for a week? Will you simply forget about that week or will you take back that week next month? By having a plan for situations like this you’ll know what to do and you won’t need to feel like you failed.
